I’m Faye, and I’m a British freelance writer, blogger and occasional website consultant (that’s a fancy way of saying that I help local businesses with their websites, hosting and email).
I started writing fiction at the age of eight, creating stories for my younger brother. I used to read them aloud to him at home – he had to listen because he was three and had no one else to play with.
I took a very long writing break after the novel I wrote at the age of 23 failed to make it onto the bestseller shelf of WHSmith. Or in fact any shelf anywhere. In the last few years I’ve returned to doing what I love the most.
Do you have any credentials?
You mean, am I any good? Well, I had an unpublished novel long-listed for the Mslexia Women’s Novel prize in 2015. I have a piece of flash fiction included in an anthology that you can buy on Amazon, and the television that currently stands in my living room was the first prize in a short story competition that I entered at the last minute (I will keep that TV forever and ever).
Waiting for my big break any day now… (if I can just finish the novel I’m currently working on…)
